Tests Prove L.A. Spas are
|
| Don't be mislead by the hype of manufacturers who fully foam
their spas. They do it to give them structural support, not to make them more energy
efficient. L.A. Spas already have the structural support because of the use of the finest polybond rigidizing laminates. But with L.A. Spas, you don't have to sacrifice energy efficiency either. In fact, no fully foamed spa is more energy efficient than a L.A. Spa. In testing conducted by an independent engineering test lab a L.A. Spa with the Arctic Pak Insulation System heated up from 82° to 104°, 17% quicker than the exact same spa with full foam insulation. That resulted in a 16% savings in the cost of energy. That's because L.A. Spas feature the Arctic Pak Insulation System. This system works on the same basic concept as the thermopane window, trapping warm air between the foam insulated shell and the cabinet. When a window manufacturer wants to |
make an energy efficient window, they don't make the glass
3" thick, they have two (2) panes of glass with an insulating barrier of air in
between. L.A. Spas uses the same principal. By combining a layer of dense foam on the outside of the shell with a thicker layer on the inside of the cabinet, L.A. Spas form an insulating barrier of air sandwiched in between the two surfaces. This pocket of air is actually warmed by the heat put off by the pump and heater. In a fully foamed spa, the heat generated by the equipment must be vented off, wasting precious energy. The Arctic Pak Insulation System features heavy foam insulation on the plumbing, shell, and cabinet while still providing easy access. It also has a non-corrosive, solid bottom. With L.A. Spas you get the best insulation available on the market today along with the
best access to the plumbing. What more could you ask for? |
The combination of excellent insulation and reduced heat-up times makes L.A. Spas some of the most cost-efficient spas available. To find out roughly how much it would cost to operate your spa each month, look for the city nearest you on the chart below.
| City | Constant Water Temperature | Daily kw of Heat/Day | Operating Cost/Day | Operating Cost/Month |
| Atlanta | 104º | 3.6 | 36¢ | $10.80 |
| Boston | 104º | 4.9 | 49¢ | $14.70 |
| Chicago | 104º | 4.4 | 44¢ | $13.20 |
| Denver | 104º | 4.5 | 45¢ | $13.50 |
| Los Angeles | 104º | 2.3 | 23¢ | $6.90 |
| Philadelphia | 104º | 4.3 | 43¢ | $12.90 |
| St. Louis | 104º | 4.3 | 43¢ | $12.90 |
| Seattle | 104º | 4.2 | 42¢ | $12.60 |
| Washington | 104º | 4.2 | 42¢ | $12.60 |
Cost based on 10¢ per kw/hr relative to normal temperatures of the above-mentioned cities. Frequency of use and location of spa are variables that will affect cost.
